Making changes
How does the Updatable Content work?
If you take this option, we will supply you with a Software Licence for Macromedia Contribute. This is a CMS program (Content Management System) which will allow the user to update editable regions of the web site and publish it to the internet. Macromedia Contribute is widely supported and only requires us to designate regions of your web pages as editable when we design your site. You won't have to worry about being locked into a system that a specific vendor provides and charges a fortune to maintain. Any person with a basic proficiency on a word processor like MS Word should have no problem maintaining your web site with it.
Will I have access to the web space so I can make my own changes?
Yes. We will supply you with the username, password and other details you'll need. Thereafter it is your own responsibility to maintain and update. Of course if you prefer us to maintain it for you, we can come to an arrangement.
Packages and prices
I don't see what I want in a package. Can I select what I want?
Absolutely. The packages are there to help those who want a web site but are not sure what they need. If you know what you want, please let us know via email or our Quote page and we'll get right back to you with a quote. You'll be able to select a custom package in a similar affordable price range to the packages advertised on our site.
How do you keep your prices so low?
We have taken the strategy of using the power of the internet to reach a wide target audience while reducing our advertising and travelling expenditure. By using email and the internet as our primary communications channel instead of printed media, we reduce our overheads and costs significantly. Unfortunately this means that we are not in the habit of meeting our clients face to face. If you are located in or near Maidstone, UK, we will be happy to have a face to face meeting with you, but if you are located further afield, we will have to charge a small travel fee to cover our costs. Some of our clients are located outside the UK and we've had no problems in working like this.
Hosting, domains and email
Although we urge customers to do the whole process in one go, your domain name can be transferred to where your web site will be hosted.
Can I have a .com domain name?
Yes! A .com domain name with one of our packages is only an extra £20.00. We can also set up multiple domain names pointing to the same web site like .com and .co.uk
Will I be able to read my email from the internet?
Yes! Your email account comes with a web mail facility (like Hotmail or Yahoo) so you can read your email from any computer or Internet cafe. Or you can use a mail client like Outlook or Outlook Express to download your email.
